Cardiologist Claudine Lewis’ Heartfelt Mission
For the last 16 years, against the background of February being commemorated as Heart Month, cardiologist Claudine Lewis has kept a passion project going.
The St James-born and raised doctor, who is the founder and managing director of Heart Smart Centre, hosts an annual free female-focused health screening, allowing the fairer sex to check their blood pressure, body mass index, and other vitals to ascertain if they are overweight.
The screening — held on the American Heart Association-designated ‘Wear Red Day’ — also provided assessments to determine whether or not the women had symptoms of possible heart diseases, and if so, offer quick consultancies.
